Integrated safety into machine automation

Our Sysmac automation platform integrates a safety solution within our One Connection and One Software concept. One Connection is achieved through the use of Safety over EtherCAT - FSoE - protocol. The One software is achieved by using Sysmac Studio for configuration, programming and maintenance. The NX Safety System consists of safety controller and safety I/O units. Both the safety controller and safety I/O can be freely distributed in an I/O rack throughout the network when used with an NJ Machine Automation Controller on an EtherCAT network, mixing them in any combination with standard NX I/O.

Safety Transfer and Maintenance Tool

Designed specifically with customers in mind, this tool for use with the NX-SL3 series safety CPUs and associated safety I/O, allows the transfer a safety program and allows access for troubleshooting without the need of Sysmac Studio programming software.

This license-free software along with a copy of the Safety ENS file (created by Sysmac Studio), a user can perform the following maintenance functions in addition to the transfer of a safety program in the event of hardware replacement.

NX-SL3 Safety Transfer and Maintenance Tool

Verify the Safety ENS file matches the actual configuration of the hardware

Ensure that the safety configuration matches.


Read the current Safety Signature of the controller

Verify that no changes have been made to the program or configuration.


Monitor safety I/O with graphic unit representation

The status of local and remotely mounted units can be monitored without opening the control cabinet.


Troubleshooting tool

Provides the Event Name, Details of possible causes and a list of Action and corrections.
